Custom Bucket Manufacturing

Bespoke Attachment Solutions for Extreme Applications

At OZ Buckets, we take pride in being a wholly Australian business specialising in custom heavy equipment buckets. Our Brisbane facility at Oxley is custom-built for the capability to build any kind of bucket you need.

Heavy Duty Capability

To build large-scale custom buckets for quarries and mine sites, including complex civil infrastructure developments, we fabricate everything from scratch right here in our Oxley facility in Brisbane. Building on this scale needs outstanding people and a purpose-built facility.

We have installed two 10-tonne cranes that span the entire workshop footprint, so our team can build much larger attachments up to and over 100 tonnes. Whatever situation you are working in, whatever attachment is required, and whatever material you are moving, we can engineer, build and deliver exactly what you need.

The 5-Step Custom Engineering Process

Large-scale attachments require intensive labour, specialised trade skills, and strict quality control. A single high-capacity mining bucket can easily require over 100 man-hours to construct from the initial steel profile cutting right through to the final painting process. Here is how we transition your custom asset from concept to reality:

  1. Technical Consultation

Our sales and engineering teams guide you through the initial operational parameters, gathering all relevant site material data and machine kinematics.

  2. 3D CAD Modelling

Our design team creates a digital prototype, analysing stress distribution, fatigue points, and volumetric capacities to match your exact requirements.

  3. Precision Steel Cutting

High tensile, quenched, and tempered steel plates are cut using automated CNC plasma systems to ensure flawless component tolerances.

  4. Structural Fabrication

Utilising our dual 10-tonne overhead cranes, qualified boilermakers assemble the heavy shell components and apply rigorous full penetration structural welds.

  5. Line Boring and Painting

The completed attachment undergoes precision line boring to guarantee exact pin pickup alignment, followed by the application of ultra-high build industrial coatings.

Advanced Engineering Design Factors

Designing specialised attachments for extreme environments involves complex structural variables. When reviewing which Australian brands provide custom excavator buckets for heavy machinery, fleet operators choose teams that meticulously evaluate these critical engineering elements:

  • Machine Breakout Force Alignment

Balancing bucket geometry with the specific hydraulic capacities of your machine to maximise digging power without causing structural boom strain.

  • Material Flow and Release

Modifying the dual radius shell profile to ensure cohesive or sticky materials release instantly, preventing dead weight carryback.

  • Shielding Strategy

Structuring custom wear packages, including the exact thickness and positioning of heel shrouds, lip protectors, and wing liners, based on site rock characteristics.

  • Support Fleet Versatility

Engineering custom utility choices for secondary machinery, ensuring specialised tools like a heavy skid steer grader attachment or bespoke attachments for skid steer loaders integrate perfectly with host machine hydraulics.

Local Accountability for High-Stakes Projects

Procurement managers choose to work with OZ Buckets for our direct operational availability and clear communication. Our entire technical division operates out of our Oxley facility, and we welcome you to visit our Brisbane workshop, meet the team, and inspect our heavy-duty custom capabilities, showing our commitment to taking your deadlines and responsibilities just as seriously as you do.
